1Password seeks an entrepreneurial and data-driven Vice President of Product Marketing with deep cybersecurity expertise and a breadth of SaaS leadership experience to lead and scale our product marketing team. This individual will drive solutions, technical, and product marketing as we establish our next phase in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) category. Our mission is making security easy for businesses and individuals. Our next products will secure access to every application from any device or location. This individual will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and play a pivotal role in building and continuously shaping our product and messaging strategy by leading our positioning and market narrative.
Your primary goal will be to craft compelling narratives to evangelize our product value propositions, differentiate 1Password from the competition, establish our products as required elements of every cyber tech stack, accelerate urgency to buy now, and empower product marketing, marketing, and sales teams to position our products as the winning solution in the IAM space.
Your prime constituents and partners will be Sales, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of product marketing experience in the cybersecurity or IAM space.
- 5+ years in a leadership role with a SaaS product company.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful product marketing strategies in a fast-paced technology environment, inclusive of geo-expansion.
- Strong understanding of IAM products, market dynamics, and customer needs. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross- functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive product marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and market needs. Lead 1Password’s successful entry into the IAM market.
- Team Leadership:Build, lead and mentor an already high-performing product marketing team. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Market Intelligence:Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and market trends. Use insights to develop target buyer and user personas that inform product strategy and marketing campaigns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with product management, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on product messaging, launch strategies, and sales enablement portfolio.
- Product Launch: Execute the product launch process to successfully bring new innovations to market, raise customer awareness of new capabilities, and drive their adoption and usage.
- Content Development:Lead the creation of high-impact content that communicates our value proposition, including sales pitch decks, white papers, case studies, product videos, and webpages.
- Subject Matter Expertise:Support the marketing team with the development and execution of demand generation campaigns that resonate with our customers and drive adoption.
- Solutions Marketing: Develop a solution-based marketing competency within the PMM organization and lead the creation of messaging and content that positions 1Password as the best solution to the access management challenges faced by our target persona inside our ICP.
- Technical Marketing: Oversee the technical marketing function to ensure technical accuracy in all marketing materials and provide deep product expertise to customers and partners.
- Competitor Intelligence:Execute a robust competitive intelligence program that assesses competitor strengths/weaknesses and win/loss results, informs product roadmap priorities, and enables sales with strong competitor battle cards and depositioning messaging.
- Influential communication: Evangelize 1Password, our products, and our value prop through thought leadership content, events, and public speaking.
- Data-driven:Establish KPIs, guide and empower experimentation, and report on product marketing impact and ROI.
USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $269,000 USD and $363,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $247,000 CAD and $334,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
