Bumble Inc is seeking a Technology Category Manager with deep experience in sourcing and procuring to join its global Finance team. With over 140 technology vendors, you will work cross-functionally and support Bumble’s Chief Technology Officer by negotiating vendor agreements, manage the early and methodical technology renewal process and run continuous improvement projects.
You will be one of two of the first members of Bumble’s new Procurement team and will report into the Director of Procurement based in New York.
What you’ll be doing
- Advise the CTO and his team on Sourcing Strategies for new and existing vendors, then implement these strategies
- Generate Realised Value, defined as savings, cost avoidance, negotiated value, cash conserved, and rebates, in a practicable, precise, and transparent manner
- Negotiate new and renewing technology vendor agreements that are specific, flexible, protective, and aligned with Bumble’s technology strategy
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and consumption of IT purchases
- Act as an internal champion for Procurement Excellence as a value-generating and supportive function for other functions by driving continuous improvement of the technology Source-to-Pay (S2P) Process
- Implement a Vendor Relationship Management approach for large, strategic, or sensitive technology vendors that optimises the performance of and value from these vendors
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, and benchmark prices to optimise purchasing decisions
- Monitor procurement performance metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and contract compliance, and report on key performance indicators to senior leadership
- Align procurement activities with Bumble’s strategic objectives
About you
- You are an undergraduate degree in business, computer science, or similar
- Ideally you will have 7+ years of progressive experience sourcing and procuring technology such as software (SaaS and Licensed), data centre services, consulting services, cybersecurity, governance, telecommunications, and networking
- You have a functional understanding of the documents that compose a complete vendor engagement, including, but not limited to, NDAs, MSAs, DPAs, Addendums, Order Forms, and Pricing Schedules
- You are a meticulous and organised planner who can manage technology renewals in an early, predictable, and effective manner
- You’re a team player who can align groups of internal stakeholders during vendor negotiations to drive the best outcomes for Bumble. And you are a respectful but firm negotiator who will drive value while respecting Bumble’s strategic vendors
- You’re comfortable in working with all levels within the organisation tactfully and trustfully and comfortable in challenging the status quo with incumbent and potential vendors
- You are a change manager who will drive continuous improvement within the Procurement Team and the S2P Process, benefiting internal leaders and stakeholders
- You’re an ethical individual who will work fairly with personnel and vendors and uphold the organization’s values of dignity, respect, diversity, and inclusion
$103,000 – $123,000 a year
Base Compensation Range: $103,000 – $123,000. For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location.
