About the role:

This position will be part of the Recruiting Operations and Programs team, contributing to Samsara’s growth by supporting teams to attract and hire top talent. We design and lead programs supporting a scalable, standardized, and objective recruiting ecosystem. We aim to optimize the hiring process and ensure our candidate experience is best-in-class. This role will help make systems and processes more efficient, reduce manual, low-value work, and enable the recruiting organization to run better.

As a Recruiting Program Manager, you will own the vision for Samsara’s talent acquisition administrative systems. You will be responsible for becoming our business partners’ go-to subject matter expert, initiating and delivering complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with hands-on experience in Recruiting Technology. We collaborate with Legal and Operations teams and cross-functional partners within Samsara on strategic projects.

This position can be based remotely and is open to applicants residing in the US, excluding the San Francisco Bay Area (125 mi. radius from 1 De Haro St, San Francisco) and NYC Metro Area (50 mi. radius from 131 W 55th St, New York).

In this role, you will:

  • Design system solutions: Optimize Samara Recruiting’s systems and integrations with other point solutions and key business systems.
  • Manage complex projects and vendor relationships: Identify and collaborate effectively with key ICs and leaders across Legal, IT, Compensation, People Operations, Finance & Strategy, and more to solve critical business challenges through implementing best practice solutions, which can include process change, configuration, and/or customization. Communicate regularly on program/project plans, progress, blockers, and risks to cross-functional stakeholders, sponsors, and vendors.
  • Provide day-to-day administration and maintenance of critical business systems: Coordinate feature launch activity, respond to issues and incidents, and provide day-to-day administration of the critical business systems that drive our global recruiting operations. Configure fields, workflows, roles/permissions, and reports.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 3+ years experience in recruiting technology and system administration; 3+ years of Program Management experience
  • Previous enterprise ATS and HRIS experience; Greenhouse required, Workday preferred
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to understand business requirements and translate them to effective use of applications
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions
  • Effectively communicate vision, strategy, and statuses of projects to leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Experience designing test plans and launching projects effectively on tight timelines

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Prior hands-on experience working in and configuring complex People Technology systems
  • Experience creating business cases for technology and system design, completing RFPs (request for proposal), implementing new technology vendors
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Experience with ATS integrations and Project Management tools

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver total compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs).  A new hire RSU award is awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers are eligible to receive above target equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.
