About the Role

Our client, an animation studio is hiring for a full-time, long-term contract position for a mid-level media music composer. The role is fully remote, and the client is seeking someone who loves creating music, understands audience engagement, and derives pleasure from their work. In addition to music composition, the client is also looking for someone capable of producing sound effects. The preferred style is instrumental, as the client wants their stories to be told through music. The animation studio produces content for kids, aiming to bring novel experiences to television for this generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Compose original instrumental music for animated content, capturing the desired tone, mood, and emotions of each scene or sequence.
  • Collaborate with the animation team to understand the creative vision and ensure the music aligns with the overall story and character development.
  • Create engaging and immersive soundtracks that enhance the viewing experience for the target audience (kids and families).
  • Produce high-quality sound effects that complement the visuals and bring the animated world to life.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience as a media music composer and sound effects producer, with a strong portfolio showcasing work in animation, film, television, or video games.
  • Proficiency in using digital audio workstations (DAWs) and music production software (e.g., Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton Live).
  • Strong understanding of music theory, composition, and orchestration.
  • Ability to create engaging and emotionally resonant instrumental music for various genres and styles.
