Fast is seeking a Media Relations Manager to drive strategic media relations efforts with trade press. This individual will be a wizard in reaching e-commerce, retail, and other relevant industry press to enhance our reputation and drive demand for our products; they will also support broader U.S. corporate communications initiatives.

This is the right role for you if you are:

  • A strong media relations strategist who is also happy to roll up your sleeves and do the legwork to carry out the strategy you’ve created
  • Experienced working with e-commerce platforms, online retailers, financial services companies and/or high growth tech startups
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines, often concurrent, for disparate projects
  • A strong listener with a curious mind who can learn about new subjects and translate them into compelling stories for a broad audience
  • An exceptional project manager and have the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • A self-starter who approaches everything with drive, urgency, and energy
  • Excited to solve hard problems in creative ways
  • Skilled at thinking on your feet and are comfortable in a constantly changing work environment

Responsibilities

  • Generate proactive media coverage in trade press, with emphasis on e-commerce and retail to drive visibility for Fast with merchants
  • Maintain and build relationships with journalists
  • Identify award opportunities and develop submissions that generate recognition for Fast with merchants
  • Cultivate customer references and success stories to drive media coverage
  • Work with U.S. Corporate Communications Manager to support broader efforts and position Fast as a leader in its space

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in communications/public relations, with an emphasis on trade media relations
  • Superb journalistic-quality writing and editing skills
  • Bonus points if you are a Cubs fan and / or can also write perfectly in another language
