As the Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies with a strong focus on digital channels, including web, email and social media, and partnerships. This role involves leading a team to create and implement innovative marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and partner pipeline. You will oversee all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts, with a particular emphasis on digital marketing initiatives for our core customer bases – small businesses and enterprise organizations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in digital marketing, experience in supporting partner sales channels, and the ability to analyze and optimize marketing performance across various platforms to deliver results.
This role reports to the VP Business Development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Digital Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, encompassing web, social media, email, SEO/SEM, and other relevant online channels for acquisition of both small business and enterprise customers.
- Partner Sales Support: Create and execute marketing programs that support and enhance our partner sales pipeline, including co-marketing initiatives, partner enablement materials, and lead generation campaigns.
- Customer Acquisition: Develop and implement strategies specifically designed to attract and convert small business customers, including targeted campaigns, lead nurturing programs, and conversion optimization techniques.
- Web Presence Optimization: Oversee the company’s web presence, ensuring optimal user experience, conversion rates, and alignment with overall marketing goals.
- Social Media Leadership: Direct social media strategies across all relevant platforms, focusing on audience growth, engagement, and conversion.
- Content Marketing: Guide the development of high-quality, targeted content that supports both direct customer acquisition and partner sales across various digital platforms.
- Ecosystem Partnerships: Manage ecosystem partner relationships, including NAACP, USHCC, Bunker Labs, WBENC, to identify and build strategic opportunities for brand building and awareness.
- Marketing Analytics: Implement and monitor KPIs for all marketing activities, using data-driven insights to optimize performance and ROI.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively across various initiatives and channels.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels and partner communications.
- Marketing Technology: Stay abreast of and implement cutting-edge marketing technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of marketing efforts.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and partner management teams to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
- Campaign Planning and Execution: Develop and oversee the implementation of integrated marketing campaigns that leverage both digital and traditional channels.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Proven Experience: 8+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in senior roles focusing on digital marketing and partner sales support.
- Digital Marketing Expertise: Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, strategies, and best practices, including web optimization, social media marketing, SEO/SEM, and email marketing.
- Growth Expertise: Successful track record of growing quality and engaged customers.
- Partner Channel Experience: Demonstrated success in developing and implementing marketing strategies to support partner pipeline building initiatives.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
- Analytical Acumen: Proficiency in using data analytics tools to measure and optimize marketing performance across various channels.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term marketing strategies aligned with business goals.
- Budget Management: Experience in managing substantial marketing budgets and demonstrating ROI.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and partners.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to market changes and new technologies.
- Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of marketing trends, particularly in digital and partner marketing landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B marketing, preferably in technology or SaaS industries
- Experience marketing to small businesses
- Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
- Familiarity with CRM systems, particularly in relation to partner relationship management
- Certifications in relevant digital marketing areas (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot Inbound Marketing)
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing customer acquisition and retention strategies.
