The Global Vice President of Sales Development will lead and scale our team of high-performing Sales Development Representatives around the World who are responsible for both inbound and outbound market development activities. Our sales development team is approaching 100 Udemates worldwide and will be growing substantially in 2022.  This division of Udemy is truly the “Life Spring” for Udemy Business (UB), the talent and revenue engine with top performers who are promoted into Sales and other parts of the organization where they grow their career and help push Udemy towards becoming the largest Education Technology provider in the World!

The Global VP will report to the Head of Global Sales and work cross-functionally with the Sales, Marketing, and Enablement teams as an operational leader managing the base of target accounts; orchestrating coordinated plays to consistently identify opportunities and grow pipeline. The leader will be a dynamic, results-driven, process-minded individual that is an exceptional coach and motivator of people, driving execution and sales development excellence. The ideal candidate will thrive in a position that is all about Talent Development and Process Optimization, working with Senior Leadership on Strategic Planning and long term Organization Design for the Sales Development function in order to drive results for the entire company. 

You will:

  • Tenaciously grow the sales development organization, increase sales pipeline volume, optimize deal velocity and revenue via closed-won business.
  • Talent Development:  Attract, recruit, train, manage and retain a high-performing team of sales development representatives and sales development managers.
  • Own overall responsibility for inspiring, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Provide leadership, development, and training for our SDR team to hit and exceed monthly goals and achieve other defined objectives.
  • Process Optimization:  Set and meet key performance indicators and objectives and key results with the sales leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain SDR best practices, pitches, and objection handling
  • Strategic Planning: You will be a critical contributor to the corporate Sales and Marketing strategy, providing the definition and implementation of the plan and ensuring global alignment in the business.
  • Work as a strategic partner to the marketing and sales organization to optimize the sales funnel and help to develop demand generation campaigns/content
  • Long term Organization Design: Evaluate current sales tech stack to manage the sales process and set standards for performance.
  • Accurately forecast the sales development pipeline and proactively flag risk.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly and quarterly SDR team goals

We’re excited about you because you have:

  • 10+ years of Sales Leadership – Proven ability to develop IC’s into Managers and guide Managers into “Leader of Leaders”.
  • 8+ years of experience working in a fast-paced technology/SaaS company and 4 of those years in a sales role
  • Capacity to hire, inspire, lead, and motivate team members and establish a healthy and collaborative work environment
  • Experience leading a global team (North & South America, EMEA, and APAC)
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding individual and team goals
  • Exceptional planning, organization, and project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent reporting and analytics skills using Salesforce, Excel, and equivalent tools
  • Nice to have: Bilingual in Spanish and English
