Our client in the gaming industry is looking for an accomplished, talented individual to lead and execute a multi-title, multi-sport community management strategy. This role will report to the Director of Social and Community Marketing, Sports, and will play a crucial role in strategizing, leading and maintaining the organically aggregated fan communities attached with their titles. Practically speaking, that includes social platforms such as Discord, reddit and emerging platforms, but philosophically, it encompasses all meaningful spaces our fans populate.

The key performance indicators most closely associated with this role are growing, listening to and servicing an engaged, vocal and at times opinionated fanbase. Success in this role looks like a mix of keeping our most loyal fans informed about our current titles; excited for future product marketing and development; while fostering meaningful interactions and a sense of shared ownership and community pride.

What you will do:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between 2K and its player community across social media platforms, forums, and other relevant channels.
  • Proactively engage with players, respond to inquiries, address concerns, and foster positive interactions to enhance the overall player experience.
  • Generate hype and keep the community informed and excited about upcoming releases, events, and updates. Curate user-generated content and showcase the creativity and passion of our player base in concordance with our NextMakers program and other influencers
  • Plan, organize, and execute community events, competitions, and initiatives to foster camaraderie among players, drive participation, and enhance community loyalty. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and maximize impact.
  • Act as the voice of the community within the company, gathering feedback, insights, and sentiment from players and conveying them to relevant stakeholders. Analyze community data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor community channels to ensure compliance with community guidelines and company policies. Address any conflicts, disputes, or instances of inappropriate behavior in a timely and professional manner, fostering a positive and inclusive community environment.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with influential community members, content creators, and advocates. Collaborate with them to amplify our brand message, drive awareness, and foster a sense of belonging within the community

Requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • Undergraduate degree preferably in marketing, communications or sports
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience as a community management or similar role, preferably within the sports or video game industry
  • High passion for, and knowledge of, the gaming, sports, lifestyle brands landscape
  • Strong EQ and people skills with ability to effectively and positively influence
  • Ability to listen, take direction, problem solve, and take-action
  • Deep understanding of gaming culture, trends, and player behavior
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter, able to take ownership over tasks and carry them throughout to the end
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in social media management platforms, tools and analytics platforms
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and content creation.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced, cross functional dynamic environment.
  • Experience with community moderation, e-customer service conflict resolution is a plus

Benefits

Compensation Range: $70,000 – 80,000/yr
