The Event Programming Manager will focus on creating the content framework for our subreddit creator onboarding events and annual moderator summit. This role will be responsible for developing the event themes and stories and crafting sessions that are engaging, relevant and impactful for our moderator community.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Work cross-functionally amongst the Community team to build the Community Lifecycle events’ programming roadmap, developing a clear theme and  through-line between the events
  • Own the content development of Reddit’s annual virtual Mod Summit to:
    • Create an engaging event story that excites and inspires moderators
    • Identify session topics that are applicable to the diverse and global moderator community
    • Source and contract internal and external speakers that will resonate with attendees
    • Develop a call for speakers process to solicit and review speaker submissions
    • Lead programing stakeholder syncs
  • Define topics and themes for monthly creator onboarding sessions and source relevant internal and external speakers
  • Partner directly with moderators and communities to identify common themes and create moderator-led content that provides peer-to-peer education
  • Collaborate with speakers to craft meaningful sessions
  • Develop programming success metrics and conduct post event analysis to guide and evolve future events 

Preferred experience:

  • 5 – 7 years of experience building and executing virtual event programming from the ground up for small and large scale events
  • A knack for storytelling through events and a portfolio showcasing your work
  • A strong pulse of what’s happening on Reddit, and a deep understanding of Reddit and Redditors (specifically, the relationship between mods and Reddit, and mods and users)
  • Experience creating content for consumer-facing virtual events
  • High attention to detail, and an ability to manage projects with little oversight
