Job Title: Part-Time E-commerce Shipping Consultant
Location: In Office or Fully Remote
Overview: Flip, an innovative and fast-paced e-commerce start-up, is seeking an experienced and skilled e-commerce Shipping Consultant. This temporary, part-time role involves optimizing our carrier agreements and enhancing our shipping network. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operational shipping and/or supply chain roles or substantial experience in rate negotiation at shipping consulting firms. This temporary position requires approximately 20-30 hours of engagement and offers a competitive pay rate of $250-300 per hour (compensation will depend qualifications, location, and other factors).
Responsibilities:
- Carrier Agreement Review: Analyze and evaluate current carrier agreements to identify areas for cost savings and service improvements.
- Shipping Network Optimization: Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of our current shipping network and recommend strategic enhancements.
- Contract Renegotiation: Lead the renegotiation of carrier contracts to secure better rates, terms, and service levels.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends and benchmarks to ensure competitive shipping rates and practices.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and outcomes of renegotiated contracts.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping operations or a consulting role focused on rate negotiation and carrier agreements or similar role.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven expertise in negotiating carrier rates and contracts, with a strong track record of achieving favorable terms.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to review and interpret complex carrier agreements and shipping data.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the shipping and/or logistics industry, including carrier services, pricing structures, and market trends.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
- Compensation: $250-300 per hour, based on experience, expertise, location.
