We are looking for a UX Director to join the Reddit UX organization. As a UX Director you will lead a team of designers elevating the quality and efficiency of the entire org by defining design systems, pushing creativities in a systematic way, expanding new types of user experience, and empowering developers on Reddit. You will partner with ENG, PM, UX research and other design teams to deliver UX strategy that significantly improves product experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, and manage, a growing team of designers.
  • Foster creativity and collaboration both inside and out of your area of ownership.
  • Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle from concept to delivery.
  • Contribute to design thinking at the company, resulting in tangible improvements across our portfolio of products – as well as to how we approach and solve user problems.
  • Drive change through user insight – resulting in improvements to the Reddit experience.
  • Build consensus across diverse teams through user-centric solutions and effective communication.
  • Effectively communicate and present solutions to user problems across the organization and senior executives, as well as to large groups of end users.
  • Own quality of user experience for your area.

Qualifications:

  • 13+ years of relevant design experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of previous experience managing a team(s) of 10+ designers
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions, creative strategy and/or design system for consumer facing products across platforms
  • Proven experience with iterative design and development process
  • A strong sense of user empathy.
  • Problem solver who can be effective in situations with limited information, building a solution from first principles and communicating it to stakeholders.
  • Humble, driven, and motivated to ship the best product.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission.
