The Creative Director at Degreed leads the most impactful creative, marketing and design initiatives for the brand. We are global creative strategists, storytellers, concept, production, and design leaders. Creative Director will create and maintain Degreed’s brand story and brand identity while elevating our mission and purpose. Partner with the best creative agencies. Develop creative platforms and campaigns for the biggest brand, sponsorship, and cultural moments. We work across time zones, cultures, and teams to bring brand-wide creative initiatives and frameworks to life. We drive consistency of storytelling and visual execution. We inspire and advocate for creative excellence around the world.

Day in the Life

  • You will bring the brand strategy, story, and purpose to life through our brand identity and visual presence across channels and the globe
  • You will lead, guide, and integrate Degreed’s visual identity system – its conceptual strategy, art direction and design application
  • Build scalable design systems for brand, evergreen, and sponsorship moments
  • Help develop an integrated global team to partner, consult, innovate, and manage the application of the visual identity
  • You will collaborate with marketing creatives, brand designers, and Degreed marketers and agencies around the world to ensure the most impactful and consistent representation of our brand in the graphics, videos, customer stories, and other collateral we create
  • You should be well versed in all steps of creation, including the strategy, purpose, visuals and wording we choose to tell our story with the most success and impact
  • You have experience with interactive and video elements to bring a modern feel to our productions, plus you know what works in conveying the story in a meaningful way to feed the funnel

Who You Are

  • 10 to 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8-10+ years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA).
  • Strong background in design & creative direction for global brand.
  • Proven understanding and skills in creative storytelling, art direction, user experience, motion, and marketing.
  • Experience conceptualizing marketing campaigns, building design systems, and working in digital channels and experiences (creative agency, digital agency, or in-house digital design team).
  • Strong, focused experience in art direction, digital communications, and content development.
  • Seasoned creative leader who can balance business goals, drive engagement and performance while delivering best-in-class creative.
  • Experience leading and managing both in-house and/or external teams.
  • Experience providing clear creative direction, career path guidance and timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on budget and schedule.
  • Presentation skills and communication experience with all levels of an organization, both internal and client-facing.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Degreed is a remote-first company, however our roles are open to in-office or flex work if you live in a city with a physical office location (when it is safe to return to the office). This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our US and International colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), email, and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery as necessary.  Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
