Overview
We’re looking for a quick-witted storyteller and creative force to expand Terraformation’s reach in the climate solution space. You’ll come up with bold and original ideas, developing them into engaging and visually striking content across platforms—turning our mission into a movement and our data into inspiration. This role blends rapid ideation, strategic content development, and hands-on creative execution, spanning thought leadership, digital storytelling, social campaigns, and immersive virtual experiences.
Salary: $90,000 – $120,000, plus equity (depending on location and experience)

Responsibilities

- Visual Storytelling & Design: Design high-impact visuals and infographics for social, decks, site pages, and events—turning complex ideas into clear, memorable visuals.
- Narratives & Promotional Copy: Create and edit short-form written copy such as video scripts, captions, advertising copy, and social media posts.
- Short & Long-form Video Production: Create and edit short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) and longer-form explainers, mission videos, and project highlights.
- Event Story Design: Support the creative development of virtual (and occasionally live) events (e.g. panels, video podcasts, etc.) that bring together thought leaders and innovators from the worlds of nature, technology, and climate finance.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with brand, science, partnerships, and climate impact teams to identify interesting sources for content, and develop new materials that align with campaigns and strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience working with global nonprofits, climate startups, or science communication platforms
- Strong creative instincts, with a willingness to take risks and challenge the status quo of climate messaging
- Integrative thinker who understands the power of story and connection to build movement, not just awareness
- Excellent understanding of content trends across platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok)
- Graphic design experience (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.)
- Video production and editing skills (Premiere, Final Cut, or similar tools)
- Strong copywriting and narrative skills across formats—from poetic storytelling to punchy tweet threads
- Ability to distill complex climate science or policy into accessible, emotionally resonant content
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in climate, community development, sustainability, tech-for-good, or mission-driven orgs
- Entrepreneurial experience as a content creator or social media influencer
- Experience crafting visual campaigns around carbon markets, restoration science, or environmental policy
- Experience in using fast-paced creative tools to keep up with the speed of social media, such as AI-powered creative and writing applications
- Familiarity with concepts like planetary boundaries, nature-based solutions, and emerging tech (AI, carbon removal, etc.)
- Experience using tools that keep up with the speed of social media, such as generative AI
