ABOUT THE ROLE 
The Business Operations Analyst is a critical part of the day-to-day business operations at Happy Money, specifically supporting the operations of our financial partners. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Business Operations and focuses on partner reporting related to loan portfolios, ensuring data accuracy by validating files and reports, and reconciling payment accounts. Happy Money derives recurring revenue from successfully collecting on loans throughout their life cycle, and this person is responsible for ensuring these activities are reported accurately. This individual also will engage directly with our partners, managing communications on issues and serve as the go-to-liaison for their questions. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. Additionally, this person will support the BizOps Senior Manager on partner reporting and other ad-hoc projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Report on loan origination and servicing activities, including partner reporting related to loan operations, and maintenance and development of reports
    • Coordinate projects between internal departments (Engineering, Accounting and Finance, Operations, Member Experience)
    • Serve as the point of contact for external vendors (banks, custodians, administrators)
    • Focus on continuous process improvement through automation and increased efficiency
    • Track and ensure the accuracy of loan servicing reports and files
    • Reconcile bank accounts daily
    • Track and validate the remittance of funds between Happy Money and our vendors
    • Communicate with banks to understand posting discrepancies
    • Investigate and identify issues as they arise; work with internal departments to identify the root cause
    • Test process improvements with engineering and product support
    • Engage directly with capital partners to remediate reporting issues

ABOUT YOU

    • Have 3+ years of experience in an Accounting, Finance, Analytics, or Vendor/Investor reporting role
    • Have strong attention to detail
    • Be a critical thinker with the skills and ability to improve processes
    • Be a problem solver with laser-like focus
    • Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Be savvy working with multiple IT interfaces
    • Have bank or cash reconciliation experience
    • Have a customer-focused mindset with the ability to represent customer needs and priorities within the organization
    • Be comfortable taking ownership of their work
    • Have the ability to work across teams, and drive cross-functional alignment and problem-solving to produce deliverables
    • Demonstrate a bias for action and an ability to adopt an iterative mindset (“progress over perfection”) while maintaining a strong awareness of legal/regulatory + customer needs as guardrails
    • Have moderate Excel knowledge
    • Have experience using SQL
    • Have a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration)

$75,000 – $87,000 a year
