Barrel is currently looking for an Account Manager to join our team. As a remote-first company, you may work from anywhere in the US.
At Barrel, the Account Manager (AM) is pivotal in fostering new client relationships and growing those with existing clients. The AM plays a crucial role in understanding their client’s business, including their goals and objectives, business operations, competitive landscape and success metrics. The AM is responsible for translating project objectives into actionable strategies, and managing project execution across a cross-discipline team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned client account(s), with direction and oversight from Director
- Serve as the client’s primary point of contact on designated accounts, building strong, long-lasting relationships
- Facilitate new client onboarding, with a strong understanding of our standard Barrel processes and ways of working
- Guide and advise clients on e-commerce strategies and best practices, conversion and AOV optimizations, and website enhancements
- Understand and anticipate potential roadblocks and challenges, in advance of them becoming issues for the client or internal team
- Proactively share insights and ideas, helping clients achieve reach their business goals
- Proactively research new tools and processes to support unfamiliar client needs, showing curiosity and a desire to learn
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to oversee project progress, and ensure that client projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard
- Facilitate regular communication between clients and internal teams, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed
- Manage and negotiate scope changes, always aiming for the most beneficial outcome for both the client and Barrel
- Monitor project health with a strong, ongoing understanding of profitability and the financial impact of project decisions
- Contribute to the creation of detailed project briefs and ensure that all client feedback is accurately conveyed to the relevant teams
- Participate in business development process, engaging with prospective clients and contributing to proposals and pitch decks
Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed instructions
- Level-headed and positive under pressure
- Naturally curious and highly proactive, with a passion for learning new skills
- Strong web and Mac desktop skills – we use the Shopify ecosystem, Google, Slack, Basecamp, JIRA, Harvest and Forecast
Experience:
- 3-5 years of account or project management experience in the advertising/marketing industry
- Agency experience required, digital experience strongly preferred
- Client experience within the eCommerce space (Shopify) is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing or similar field
$75,000 – $90,000 a year
