About the Role
We’re looking for a Lead to oversee all aspects of marketing operations; to support the CMO in overall strategy execution. This role will own marketing team operations, production and cost discipline; as well as supporting cross-functional operations & collaboration.In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with top coveted brands and influential social commerce creators. The best candidates will have a deep love for Creators, Social Media and Social Commerce.
This role is designed to offload system-type tasks from senior marketing leaders, allowing them to focus on enhancing the quality of strategic marketing initiatives. It serves as a bridge between strategy formulation and execution, ensuring seamless integration of marketing efforts across the company. The Senior Director will create transparency for executive leadership and stakeholders regarding ongoing projects, priorities, and resource allocation, facilitating optimized cross-functional collaboration.

Own Team Process:
- Develop and maintain a structured work system that includes team tools, communication channels (e.g., Slack), and rituals; adaptable to remote work environments
- Drive strategic work alignment and prioritization, ensuring that the team’s efforts deliver expected ROI and enhance Creator experiences
- Standardize and facilitate team operations, including campaign briefs, execution sprints, planning cycles, retrospective meetings, etc.
- Maintain and enhance the marketing team’s operational hub, Notion HQ, ensuring all work processes are well-documented and easily trackable
- Automate as much of the marketing operations as possible, shifting towards self-service tools to increase efficiency
- Foster team morale and culture through team-building initiatives and regular check-ins, ensuring a strong team health and collaborative environment
Build Cost Discipline
- Oversee and ensure the efficiency of financial operations within the marketing department, including the management and scrutiny of budgets to align with organizational standards and objectives
- Establish systems to provide accurate and timely data on the cost and duration of marketing projects, extending cost control measures to partner teams to maintain a comprehensive view of financial expenditures
- Manage vendor relationships effectively, handling vetting, sourcing, negotiation, and onboarding processes, and ensuring timely payments for services rendered
- Collaborate with Finance and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to establish robust expense approval processes
- Monitor and report on budget utilization, ensuring spending is responsible and adheres to company requirements, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as one of the primary liaisons between the marketing team and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
- Work closely with the CMO to integrate marketing with other business functions, particularly focusing on consistent and effective collaboration and communication
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and develop working agreements with partner teams that support integrated campaign efforts and operational coherence across departments
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing updates and insights into Marketing & CP project statuses, priorities, and strategic decisions
We’re excited about you because:
- You have 5+ years’ experience in a high-growth tech or gaming company, with a preference for those who have held a Chief of Staff, Producer, Development Manager, Project Manager; or similar role.
- You have Strong project management abilities, capable of leading complex initiatives to successful completion; in both Agile, Waterfall and blended styles
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), with the capability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a knack for innovation, adaptable to a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
The base salary range for this role is $170,000/yr – $190,000/yr USD.
At Howl, we offer a competitive compensation package inclusive of base salary, incentive pay and stock options. Incentive awards are allocated based on individual performance. Certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
