HubSpot, the #1 customer relationship management (CRM) platform for scaling companies, is looking for a visionary operator to help oversee our growing media team.

Our company, which supports 160,000+ businesses, relies on its blogs, courses, videos, and podcasts to attract new users. We recently acquired The Hustle – whose flagship daily email is read by 2+ million people around the world – as part of our plan to build a world-class media operation that helps our partner companies grow.

We’re looking for a VP of Media, who will lead The Hustle team, which includes over 60 creators, marketers, and growth strategists, and help us expand our reach with entrepreneurs and business builders.

As the VP of Media, you will be a key member of HubSpot’s marketing leadership team and play a critical role in helping us grow our business – setting the vision and strategy for The Hustle and Trends, our fast-growing community of entrepreneurs, and spearheading new products we develop.

The Hustle’s timely, smart, and engaging stories have become an indispensable source of information on the day’s most important business and tech news, and we’re looking for someone with the skills and experience to take us to the next level.

The right candidate will be a seasoned leader with experience inspiring teams, developing and growing innovative media products, and pushing everyone to think bigger.

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Align with HubSpot senior leadership to create a long-term plan for The Hustle
  • Establish short-term and long-term goals for the team and ensuring they ladder up to the company’s broader needs
  • Develop a framework for measuring goals and impact across our various media products
  • Coach and develop The Hustle Group, ensuring the team has a clear vision, is motivated to achieve our goals, and is held accountable for our ambitious targets
  • Create an organizational structure to ensure we have the right people in the right jobs to help us grow our business
  • Work with senior members of HubSpot’s media team to develop new products that educate and delight our audience and expand our footprint
  • Partner with HubSpot media colleagues to create one cohesive user experience across our newsletter, blog, podcast, and video platforms
  • Establish collaborations with leading creators to broaden the reach of our business
  • Manage The Hustle Group budget to ensure that we are properly supporting all of our products and growing our business efficiently

  • Has a strong vision for growing our business in an increasingly competitive industry
  • Is a seasoned operator and people manager who can drive the team toward ambitious but achievable goals
  • Demonstrates a results-oriented mindset with the ability to foster teamwork and inspire creativity in a fast-paced culture
  • Exhibits a cool under pressure disposition and is capable of creating a vision and seeing it through
  • Has strong interpersonal skills who is a good communicator, skilled negotiator, and understands how to build bridges with internal and external stakeholders
  • Is autonomous and a self-directed leader who embodies the qualities we look for in employees, including humility, empathy, adaptability, and transparency

Cash compensation range: 268000-429000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all HubSpotters are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
