Overview

Humio is changing the way engineering and operations teams manage complex systems by improving the way they interact and manage logging. Humio is looking for a well-rounded and creative Technical Writer to help us deliver world-class technical content.

In this role, the Technical Writer will be focused on delivering technical content including product documentation, user interface, and error messages. This role reports to the VP of Customer Engineering.

Role Responsibilities

  • Create new technical content for Humio’s current products and new features
  • Maintain current technical product documentation, including reference materials, tutorials, and implementation guides
  • Collaborate with our worldwide team in Engineering, Support, Marketing, and other departments across the company to make sure the technical content is accurate, thorough, and engaging
  • Improve the documentation working with Humio’s Product Education Team
  • Partner with Humio’s Senior Technical Editor on various projects, including style, corporate glossary, and documentation infrastructure
  • Help with writing error messages
  • Test and review training materials as needed

Role Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience creating technical documentation for customers and partners
  • 2-5 years experience working with Linux as both an administrator and a user
  • Experience working with GitHub
Bonus Skills
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) or data analytics
  • Experience with any type of query language (search or SQL)
  • Experience with Docker or other container technology
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Ability to create simple graphics to help convey technical concepts
