Overview

MedArrive is a fast-paced and fast-growing start up on a simple mission: Improving people’s lives by bringing more humanity to healthcare. Our enemy is an often soulless, transactional healthcare system that’s increasingly engineering the vital human touch away from the experience – and often hard to access.  MedArrive enables healthcare providers to seamlessly extend care services into the home, unlocking access to high-quality healthcare for more people at a fraction of the cost.  Our care management platform allows providers and payors to bridge the virtual care gap, integrating physician-led telemedicine with in-person care from EMS professionals. Patients can access trusted medical expertise from their homes’ comfort and safety without interruption to the continuity of care, ultimately resulting in better patient outcomes, a better-utilized healthcare workforce, and significant cost savings for patients and providers alike.

We are looking for a creative, hands-on, technologist who has both new product and platform scaling experience, with preferably a background in the healthcare or consumer industries.

As a MedArrive Software Engineer, you will work with a high octane, fun-loving and passionate cross-functional team, motivated to make a real difference in healthcare and bring our best selves to work doing it.  Our goal is to create a platform and eventual marketplace for in-home medical support in a complex, multi-stakeholder industry. Our platform and apps are deployed in AWS, with our tech stack centered around PostgreSQL (AWS RDS)/ Redshift, Ruby on Rails (some Node.js), React/ React Native, with AWS EMR/ Spark and Python for data services.

In this role  you will help shape the product and collaborate with the entire company in a dynamic startup environment. This is a remote role that can be based anywhere within the US.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop a robust mobile healthcare services platform
    • Design and develop new  capabilities and features.
    • Work with a fast, modern tech stack, deployed in AWS.
  • Develop Integrations (Workflow and Data) with various healthcare systems
    • Leverage and build on industry-standard interoperability frameworks and APIs.
    • Take API integrations through the whole develop, test, and release lifecycle
  • Work on high-impact projects that will go directly into the hands of end-users
    • Touch many different parts of the tech stack, and move between different systems.
    • Determine the best way to solve the problems at hand and address feedback.  Our end-users are internal Cx & Clinical staff, consumers/patients, field providers (EMTs, Paramedics, etc.) and staff at healthcare organizations (hospitals, health plans).

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of hands-on software engineering/architecture experience in/for commercial technology or technology-enabled services companies.
  • Familiarity with technologies, frameworks and tools used across the entire stack, with deeper hands-on experience in at least one of each. These include :
    • Web service/ application development tools & frameworks like Rails (strongly preferred), or node.js.
    • Javascript & Front-end frameworks like React (preferred), Angular, Vue, etc.
    • SQL ( PostgreSQL, Redshift, etc.) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, etc.) databases
    • Cloud technologies (AWS – preferred, GCP, Azure)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Healthcare Informatics and/ or Healthcare Technology experience.
    • Systems Design/ Architecture experience with excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Advanced degree in computer science or related field.
