Overview

Want to Be Part of Something Different? We’re Hiring!
Marketing Engineer for Marketing Technology Company in the Travel Industry

Do you want to take the next step in your career as a marketing pro?

…to set your own hours and work from wherever you want?

…and get paid from the internet?

If the answer to all three is ‘yes’, then this might be the position for you!

We are offering you the opportunity we wished we’d had years ago. You’ll be working hard, learning new skill sets, being mentored by people who care about your professional development – all whilst living/working in any location you choose.

So you might be wondering…

What’s The Opportunity?

We’re hiring a Marketing Engineer to help us produce, curate and promote new content across our company website and social media outposts. You’ll be responsible for distributing our brand and value proposition to potential future customers, exploring new content opportunities and mediums to expand our reach, and improving the content we already have available.

Initially, you’ll be learning more about the business, our process, and the types of tour operator businesses we typically work with.

Ultimately, you’ll be managing our marketing campaigns and social media presence; helping potential customers better understand what we do in order to deliver engaged opportunities to our sales reps.

This is a full-time position (approximately 35 hours per week) working with us as at 10x Travel. The initial contract is for 6 months, with a $1,800 monthly base salary (depending on experience).

But we’re really looking for someone who can take charge and run profitable sections of our business long-term. Someone who will become a core member of the team, staying on through 2019 and beyond to become a full-stack B2B Marketing Engineer.

This is a location independent position, allowing you to work from wherever you’d like.

Why Should I Work With 10x Travel?

10x Travel is a UK-based company that helps ambitious tour operators break through the 7- and 8-figure sales barriers with a unique, proven, scalable sales and marketing system.

You can read more about our proprietary process here.

We (Max Hardy and Jay Connelly) founded the company in 2012. Since then we’ve grown to a team of 15 based all over the world.
We’re serious about taking things to the next level and we need someone smart, ambitious and eager-to-learn to join our team.

You will:

  • Get paid to learn everything about a range of digital sales and marketing disciplines.
  • Enjoy the benefits of remote work, getting things done and learning from wherever you want (as long as you can find a reliable internet connection).
  • Work with a best-in-class team and gain valuable skills with a successful, fast-growing and interesting company.

If you want to establish yourself as a world-class digital marketing professional, this is your opportunity to make it happen.
Here is what some of our team members have said about working for us:

Chris Michael – VP of Revenue

“In the time I’ve been with 10x Travel, I’ve had the pleasure of working out of multiple locations across four different continents. Given my last job was in an office of 200 people, I can’t quite express how much that freedom means to me – working whilst I travel to such beautiful, scenic destinations, that before only made up two weeks of my year after I’d saved up some vacation days!

My passion for travel means the work is always interesting, and my colleagues here are awesome, which makes the day-to-day stuff really enjoyable. 10x have created a real environment for personal development, so when I’ve wanted to take a course to develop certain skills, the team have been more than happy to provide the opportunity for me to do so.”

Esmee Fitzgerald – Chief Operating Officer

“Working for 10x Travel started as a 10 hour per week role for me. Since then, the amount I’ve learned whilst being part of a growing business has been an unparalleled experience. I can’t quite put into words how much I care for our team and the future of 10x Travel.

Living anywhere you want? Check. Work with not only co-workers, but close friends? Check. Find yourself willingly working in your spare time because of how fun it is? Check.”

What Will I Be Doing?

We’re not a Fortune 500 company, which means you won’t be just another employee in a cubicle.
As a Marketing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for assisting the Sales & Marketing Manager to improve our inbound marketing channels, developing the interest of incoming leads, and also reporting on KPIs whilst giving campaign feedback.

You’ll be expected to develop the existing operation, work with our customer acquisition team to strategize current campaigns and build future processes that currently have a ton of unrealized potential.

If you’re up for the task, you’ll gain yourself new skills, an impressive track record, and a remote job with a great team.

Here are examples of tasks you might be working on, day to day:

  • Creating content for our social feeds on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook from our library of resources.
  • Scheduling content publication using Planable
  • Uploading and updating content on the 10x Travel WordPress website.
  • Contributing ideas to our multi-channel digital marketing strategy and overseeing day-to-day operation of the campaigns.
  • Reporting on campaign performances and sales KPIs.
  • Adding to our library of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) with the things you do and learn on the job.
  • Collaborating and communicating with our team via Slack.

Because we’re a smaller team, you should expect to wear different hats at times as the company continues to grow.

This Position Is Perfect For You If…

You’re creative, bringing new ideas & opportunities to the team
We have a ton of processes in place, and our marketing machine is growing all the time, giving us more and more leads coming through our funnels. That being said, you should also bring your own unique set of skills to generate potential customers. Who knows? Maybe your unique set of skills is something we start making part of our standard procedures!

You’re cool on digital marketing
You don’t need to already have all the technical understanding of our system, but if the terms ‘lead magnet’ and ‘email automation’ sound foreign to you, it might be worth reconsidering if you have the foundations this position requires.
You’re going to be selling marketing technology, so you’re tech-savvy. Ideally, you’ve read a few books, taken a few courses, or have a fledgling side project of your own that demonstrates your skills.

You love to empathize, influence & inspire
We want people that understand the dynamics of influence and persuasion, someone that is knowledgeable about how to effectively engage with our target market. At this level, you must have the innate ability to understand what someone else is going through and to meet them where they’re at.

You’re confident in written & visual communication
Articles… images… video… effective written and visual communication that cuts through the noise is a must-have skill in this marketing game. Your wordsmithery needs to be tight, engaging and persuasive… and it’s a big plus if you’re handy creating graphics and videos, too. There should be no doubts about your style and ability to create a solid call to action.

You’re analytical & have decent technical skills
As part of the role, you will be in charge of uploading new blog articles and case studies to our WordPress website. You’ll also be uploading regular content to a variety of social media platforms and reporting on their success. This requires a basic ability to work with HTML / CSS, an understanding of analytics and confidence in reporting. Make sure you answer question three of the application with ‘plenty’ as the first word.

You’re a self-starter
We’re looking for someone who gets shit done and delivers on time. Ideally, you are self-directed, self-motivated, and don’t need someone to look over your shoulder or hold your hand. This is a remote position, so you’ll need to be organized enough to make sure that you’re on top of everything.

Anything Else?

We want hungry, eye-on-the-prize hustlers that are serious about changing their lives and building businesses.

This won’t be a walk in the park, but if you’re up for a challenge, this is a unique opportunity to level up your skills with a great team.

We don’t want to oversell this… it is an amazing opportunity, but we’re really looking for a good fit over anything else. Don’t think you’re qualified? You might be surprised. Go ahead and apply – we’ll be reviewing EVERY application.

How Do I Apply?

Here is the sequence of events we’ll use to hire for this role:

Step 1: Record a Youtube video, fill out the application form and submit ASAP.
