About the Team

The Infrastructure Engineering team is a small group focused on automating any and all products in the Healthline portfolio. We’d rather be writing code that programmatically fixes problems rather than babysitting single resources. If you like using terraform to build new (or improve old) infrastructure in AWS, deploy it with CI, monitor the progress with data tools like EFK or Datadog, hone your Python or BASH skills, evaluate new tools from the open source community, use serverless, or be constantly challenged with new projects, then this is the team for you.

About the Role

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the third member of the infrastructure team and work with our Lead Infrastructure Engineer to continue growing/evolving our infrastructure in AWS.  You will play a critical part in all aspects of automation, scaling, reliability and monitoring of our production infrastructure. You are detail-oriented, self-motivated and have strong passion/demonstrated success with AWS implementations.

Required Skills

  • Production experience with AWS
  • Production experience with Docker
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with distributed services architecture
  • Production experience with log aggregation and analysis
  • Highly proficient with modern monitoring tools
  • Solid experience with scripting

Preferred Skills

  • Experience deploying and scaling Node.js applications
  • Experience with continuous delivery setups
  • Experience with Amazon EC2 Container Service

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Create, support and maintain our continuous delivery platform helping our teams increase the quality and speed
  • Develop, and deploy tools for monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers and become a valued member of multiple autonomous, cross-functional teams
  • Participate in on-call rotation

We Are Excited About You Because

  • You write code for everything you deploy
  • You leverage code reviews as a tool to share your knowledge and feedback on what your team is building
  • You strive for no pages during oncall, and follow up on incidents to make sure that they don’t happen again
  • You believe that visibility is key and place a strong emphasis on collecting appropriate metrics and designing dashboards that provide meaningful insights about your platform

Reasons Why You Should Apply

  • You want to help us take our new platform to the next level by moving more products to it and improving what we have done so far
  • You want to be a part of creating a culture within a small team. Our team is new and we just started expanding
  • You strive for simplicity even for complex problems

This Job May Not Be For You If

  • You prefer to work mostly surrounded by your team (our team is 100% remote)
