We are looking for a Senior Manager, Event Marketing to build and execute an end-to-end strategy for GitHub’s investment in major events. The event marketer will partner with field marketing managers and sales to support revenue, pipeline and other business goals. They will collaborate closely with product marketing, partner marketing, communications, and other stakeholders to maximize GitHub’s presence and impact through the events portfolio.

The right candidate understands end-to-end customer journey in enterprise technology, is driven by data and results, and has a high bar for success. The role is designed for a seasoned event marketer who has successfully partnered with field marketing and sales at an enterprise technology company.

This role is based in the US, including GitHub San Francisco headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an event portfolio strategy for GitHub tradeshow investments
  • Build end-to-end plan that include lead generation, positioning, content, partnerships, PR and social media, working with respective stakeholders and report results for major tradeshows
  • Understand what drives results and provide feedback and guidance to campaigns, field marketing, and sales development to optimize activities
  • Collaborate with brand events and field marketing teams to build a compelling customer program for GitHub Universe, our annual user conference
  • Deliver on creative ideas that bring GitHub’s brand to life to engage customers
  • Establish and proactively manage budget, being vigilant in tracking; evaluate results against goals
  • Generate learnings for improvement and document marketing best practices

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in event or field marketing, preferably in enterprise technology
  • Demonstrated ability to execute successful projects with minimal guidance in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Attention to detail and strong program management skills to juggle multiple projects and requests
  • Clear, thoughtful communicator (verbal and written)
  • Must be comfortable contributing strategically as well as lead day-to-day tactical execution
  • Eager to roll up your sleeves and get it done
  • Experience marketing to developers, engineering management, and system administrators a plus
  • Comfortable with 35%-50% travel
