Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the Hospitality industry, with 3+ years established leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in APAC Hospitality industry
  • Ability to craft and deliver compelling and data driven presentations
  • Capacity to meet multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment with minimal guidance
  • Comfortable working with a globally distributed team and flexible to frequently travel within APAC

About the Job

In fact, Hopper is recovering faster than the sector at large and that is driven in large part by the performance of our unique fintech products which offer travelers an unparalleled level of flexibility and control. In 2021, Hopper will enter APAC, the world’s largest regional travel market to extend the success achieved in the North American Market (NAM) and benefit a larger user group.

As Director of Hotels business, APAC, you will be overseeing the entirety of Hopper’s Hotels business growth in APAC, which means you will be responsible for strategy making, team build-up, marketplace development and revenue goals of Hotels in APAC markets. On behalf of Hopper Hotels in the APAC markets, you will utilize both deep industry knowledge and connections in APAC to build the relationships with hotels in the local market, tailor the products to the local users and thus establish a strong footprint of Hopper hotels in APAC. The role requires outstanding sales, management, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build up a holistic business expansion strategy for APAC hotels in support of the entirety of Hopper’s APAC expansion
  • Own a set of revenue goals related to Hopper’s hotels business in APAC markets
  • Represent Hopper in the local market, build Hopper’s company profile with key local influencers (e.g. tourism bureau, hotel association, etc.) and provide expertise to the local industry
  • Build up Business Development (BD)/Market Management (MM) team to improve hotels pricing and selections for key markets
  • Help the team negotiate complex deals that optimize Hopper’s direct Hotel supply and revenue opportunity
  • Work with Product & Development team to tailor Hopper’s merchandising and offerings to the local markets
  • Work with the marketing team to acquire desired market share in key markets
  • Educate Hopper colleagues on market dynamics and specific needs/requests from your portfolio
