Overview

We care deeply at Slite about how we manage and work together as a team. And to bring an excellent product with an outstanding experience, we need a Director of Engineering to handle a tribe at Slite.

A tribe is composed by 4 to 6 developers with a dedicated Product Manager and Designer. Lots of decisions and implementation are let to the tribe to decide. The Director of Engineering will be split between execution (you read right, doing code) and managing the technical team. And by managing, we mean helping people make decisions, being involved in product and technology plans and drive the features quality and roll-out. He/she will thrive for pragmatism while developing, helping to choose between taking shortcuts when needed and building a robust system when required.

This is a remote position.

🧢Responsibilities

– Help developers grow their skills and experience

– Work closely with product and design teams to technically shape stories

– Develop features and be involved into fixing issues

– Conduct code reviews and ensure knowledge sharing between developers

– Contribute to recruitment

– Hold regular 1:1’s

– Foster technical decision making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary

– Improve product quality, security, and performance

📖 Requirements

– Deep JavaScript experience

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills

– A passion for well-crafted products

– 5 years or more experience in a full-stack position

– 3 years or more experience in a technical management position
