Overview

Kasa manages and operates residential units and hotel rooms of all shapes and sizes in a wide variety of properties all over the country, and eventually, all over the world. This role is for a visionary who can create a singular, coherent strategy for how the Kasa brand shines in each and every one of these units, and who can execute on that vision while incorporating the deep pragmatism required to keep these spaces feeling new and fresh after many stays. This will include overseeing the interior design of our units, working closely with our operations team on executing that strategy within tight deadlines and budgets, and overseeing all on-site branding, signage, and wayfinding as well as bringing all common spaces to life.

About the Team

This role is on our small yet quick-growing Brand team that it reports to the Head of Brand. This is a new role for Kasa and Brand a new function at the company, so there is ample room for the role to grow and develop over time. The person tasked with overseeing Kasa’s physical experience will work very closely with the Operations team to assess capabilities and constraints with what we can actually do in our units. They will also connect directly with our on-the-ground professionals at all locations, and work with the marketing team to make sure the guest experience is cohesive across all touchpoints. This role will be a managerial one, overseeing our interior designer and growing that team as needed.

Day in the life of the Director of Design

No day will be typical for this role, but some part of every day will be staying up to speed on new entries into the Kasa portfolio and working closely with the Launch Operations team to make sure that the units in those new properties are representing the Kasa brand and any on-the-ground branding and signage needs are being addressed. This may mean liaising with freelancers and vendors who we have contracted to produce and deliver on-site assets.

Another part of the day will be spent strategizing with the Head of Brand and our interior designer on new trends and pieces we may incorporate into the Kasa look, including establishing a Kasa model unit where new concepts can be tested before we decide whether to launch them across the portfolio.
