First, a little bit about you. You are a good human who cares about other humans, and brings joy wherever you go. Notice how we led with that and not the work stuff. OK, and now for the work stuff. You are wildly passionate about efficiency. Yes, wildly passionate. When it comes to in-house creative teams operating at scale, you know what best-in-class looks like, and aren’t afraid to jump in and get things done while charting a path to get there.

Now, a little bit about us. Hi. We’re Yelp Creative—a team of writers, designers, and project managers who make up Yelp’s internal creative agency. Our sole purpose is to enable fandom—both inside and outside of Yelp. We have strong opinions about Gantt charts, kerning, cheese, and The Beatles.

We’re looking for an experienced leader to help define and drive the future of creative operations at Yelp. This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team and make a real impact on a brand that hundreds of millions of people trust to discover and experience the best of the world around them.

Where You Come In:

  • You will help drive adoption of the creative team’s mission, values, and operating model across the organization as a loved and respected creative leader.
  • You will lead us on the path to operational excellence by developing and driving innovation and continuous improvement of process, tools, and vendors across and within the creative team, in collaboration with our cross functional partners including Marketing Program Management, and Product.
  • Yelp Creative is currently supported by an operations team of six, and you will serve as a coach and a mentor to those lovely folks, helping them achieve their career goals.
  • You will build strong relationships with our partners to make sure their business goals are met and exceeded, while also advocating effectively on behalf of creative quality and what’s best for the Yelp customer.
  • You will work with creative leadership to drive organizational planning and development
  • You will establish a regular reporting function to measure the success of the creative team.
  • Within and out of our “Creative Partnership Teams,” you will manage the interaction between copywriters, designers, project managers, and stakeholders from marketing, corporate strategy, recruiting, product management, development, etc.
  • You will own communication, planning, briefing, and quality issues of creative projects and activities
  • You will develop world-class collaboration models and oversee the logistics of relationships with external creative agencies and partners.

What It Takes To Succeed:

  • A passion for our mission of connecting people to great local businesses.
  • Extreme empathy. You understand the needs of all stakeholders and know how to bring together folks with different motivations to achieve a common goal
  • Yes, we know every job says you need to be an “exceptional communicator,” but we really can’t stress this enough. You pride yourself on being the best listener in the room, and you’re able to explain complicated ideas in a way that everyone understands and is excited about.
  • Extensive experience working with brand and marketing creative, and running creative operations teams in-house or at agencies.
  • The ability to challenge and influence a wide variety of people with kindness and without ego
  • Ability to prepare and present high impact business cases and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • An understanding of cross channel marketing and its interdependencies.
  • You are action and solutions-oriented, with deep experience in developing simple and efficient processes for complex activities.
  • Must have an appreciation for the practice and process required to make effective and compelling work, so you can advocate for creative when other members of the team aren’t in the room and make sure we don’t commit to timelines and outcomes that aren’t feasible.

What You’ll Get:

  • Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental (100% paid employee only coverage)
  • 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 7 paid wellness days, 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday

  • Monthly wellness  reimbursement
