We are searching for a Senior Director of Communications who is a media-savvy storyteller and fearless creative strategist who will come up with infinite ways to tell our story. You will be responsible for big picture thinking and high-level execution, driving national and local PR initiatives, and finding creative ways to turn our unique events into trending topics. You will create media narratives that tell a compelling story and build brand awareness for both Consumer and Corporate programs. And through a strong partnership with our Marketing team, you will amplify Eventbrite’s mission: Bringing the world together through live experiences. This is a key leadership role on the Communications team and you will report to the Chief Communications Officer.

The Senior Director of Communications supports the execution of both strategic and tactical elements across Consumer and Corporate Communications. You see opportunities, connect the dots and keep the press operations accelerated. Because you are great at what you do (hey, we just call it like we see it!), you serve as an important touchpoint across the organization on business priorities to drive results.


  • Partner with the Chief Communications Officer and the PR & Communications team to implement a comprehensive Integrated Marketing and Communications plan
  • Bring media relations expertise and drive the delivery of Eventbrite trends and news placements across multiple platforms – along with operational execution of a high volume “always on” media engine
  • Be a strategic partner to the Brand and Product Marketing teams. Uncover new insights. Identify cool partners. Proactively identify top cities, top verticals, and creators to uncover unique ways to drive earned media coverage globally
  • Work seamlessly with the C-Suite and Senior Leadership around the world on the Brand & Product Marketing, Sales, and Dev (Product & Engineering) teams, as well as other internal stakeholders to drive important initiatives
  • Proactively work with the Chief Communications Officer and Competitive Intelligence teams to stay ahead of marketing and media trends and contribute innovative ideas and positioning that spurs the growth of the company
  • Partner with the Data, Analytics, and Insights teams to uncover the latest data to anticipate trends
  • Expand thought leadership and brand-defining opportunities and craft compelling messaging for Senior Leadership


  • 15+ years of experience in Consumer Public Relations or related Brand, Marketing or Communications experience
  • Strong leader with experience helping teams succeed while working in a fast-paced and growing cross-functional environment
  • Background managing and scaling large global press campaigns, initiatives, and comms teams
  • Well-connected with a media contact network across top-tier consumer, business and tech outlets
  • Proven track record in successfully placing stories with solid brand positioning in a wide range of outlets
  • Experience partnering with Creators, Personalities & Celebrities or Brands to drive earned media that advances corporate, consumer or social impact initiatives
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with the Marketing, Creator, Community, Data and Product teams
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at a time, and deliver quality work under pressure, with grace and composure
