The fast-moving, high-impact User Growth team at Spotify is responsible for converting new & free Spotify users to our paid tier, Spotify Premium, which provides the world’s best music experience on all platforms.

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join the team and help us to bring our conversion optimization strategy to the next level. You will be working both with setting up current optimization initiatives and more forward-looking conversion strategies and hypothesis development. Reporting into the lead of conversion optimization, you will be part of the conversion optimization team whose main goal is to bring in more subscriptions, decrease churn and improve lifetime value.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform and present analyses on large sets of data to extract important insights that will help drive product and business decision
  • Collaborate across the organization and contribute to the wider data science practice.
  • Team responsibilities include recommendations to key partners.
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams
  • Mentor and coach other team members.

Who You Are

  • You have the technical competence to perform advanced analytics: coding skills (such as Python, Java, or Scala), experience with analytics & visualization tools (Pandas, R, SPSS, SQL, Hadoop, Tableau), and experience performing analysis with large datasets.
  • Enjoy understanding and taking on loosely defined problems and come up with relevant answers and impactful insights to guide product development decisions.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of numbers, as well as a strong business acumen and ability to work with other disciplines.
  • You possess strong statistical competence (such as regression modeling, a/b testing, significance testing etc) as well as skills in forecasting and time series.
  • You have worked in an analytics role within a business or monetization focus
