Overview

Virta is the first company with a clinically-proven treatment to safely and sustainably reverse type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases without the use of medications or surgery. Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science and digital tools combined with our clinical expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. As the first Contracting Specialist at Virta Health, you will lead our provider contracting initiatives with health plans, insurance carriers and Third Party Administrators.  You will provide insight to the organization on best practices for us to contract as a Center of Excellence and be considered a participating provider within plan provider networks, utilizing a bundled and value-based pricing/billing approach. It will require  someone who is comfortable working in a high-performing, fast-paced, challenging environment.

Requirements

  • 4+  years of relevant experience in provider contracting
  • Minimum education requirements – undergraduate degree
  • Proven track record of executing on provider contracts
  • Experience and work within an insurance carrier or for a provider/clinic/hospital on the contracting team
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and add value to all aspects of a fast growing company
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and highly team-oriented
  • Able to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
  • Experience with telemedicine contracts preferred
  • Experience with value-based provider contracting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative contracting options for Virta Health to use in GTM strategy
  • Execute contracts establishing Virta Health as a Center of Excellence within provider networks
  • Review existing contractual relationships with health plans/insurance carriers/third party administrators
  • Co-develop contracting strategies in partnership with the Director of Sales for Health Plans
  • Develop strong internal relationships with the sales and marketing teams

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Evaluate our contracting practice as a provider and recommend process improvements where applicable
  • Build and implement innovative  contracting methods for work with potential health plan/insurance carrier partnerships
  • Work closely with the Enterprise team to assess our segment strategies for commercial and medicare contracts
  • Develop strong internal relationships within the sales team and various teams across the company
