Overview
We’re looking for a Content Writer & Editor who will help fuel our top-of-funnel growth efforts by developing compelling content that drives prospective customers to our web properties and establishes a unique voice in the market. The ideal candidate has a broad writing skillset that includes content marketing, copywriting, and editing. You’ll plan, write, and edit a variety of marketing content, ranging from blog posts to customer stories, email campaigns to landing pages. And you’ll ensure that our its and it’s are not used interchangeably. You’ll help shape the Abstract brand voice, empower internal team members and external subject matter experts and customers to share their stories, and continually uplevel our storytelling ability.
This role reports into the Director of Content and Community and working closely with…every function in our organization.

Responsibilities
- Internalize the Abstract voice to deliver stories that embody our brand and meet our high bar of quality.
- Research, write, and edit search-optimized content for goabstract.com and other web properties
- Help maintain a robust editorial calendar of content.
- Build relationships with both internal and external subject matter experts and customers, and translate these stories into a variety of mediums (blog posts, case studies, guest posts, landing pages).
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Design, Engineering, Sales, and People teams to develop both SEO-driven and brand-focused content ideas, prioritize them, and produce them at a consistent pace.
- Continually improve and optimize existing content based on relevant search performance metrics.
- Dream up and execute compelling regular and “special” campaigns, including email campaigns, ad copy, newsletters, and landing pages.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience in a content writing, copywriting, content marketing, editorial, or marketing communications role.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, and a portfolio of compelling content that’s tailored to goals and audiences.
- The ability to write both engaging long-form content, as well as crisp short-form copy.
- Experience with SEO best practices and how to implement them, while maintaining brand voice.
- A cross-functional collaborator with endless curiosity who’s comfortable working with individuals in a number of functions and roles.
- You’re hyper organized and pay attention to the details and are able to communicate plans, goals, and metrics to a broad range of stakeholders.
- You’re able to connect the dots between a variety of initiatives and storylines, pull in the right people (at the right time), and keep the customer’s journey in mind at all times.
