Overview

We are on the lookout for a Video Researcher to support the social video team in securing and organizing video content for our brands to be published on Facebook, Snapchat, and other social media platforms. You will be contacting and communicating with content creators to secure clearance for Brainjolt to use the content. You will have prior experience in video research and acquisition and be comfortable sourcing for multiple brands. You will have a passion for helping our producers find the clips they need from our library by being familiar with the existing clips and shows. This is a contract position to support a new social media series.

You Will:

  • Research video clips proposed by our video producers and identify the original video
  • Reach out to content creators to ask for permissions to post their video
  • Close video clips and file clearance permissions
  • Meticulously track the progress of each video clip within our CMS
  • Become intimately familiar with our brands and the content that is most successful
  • Identifying and pitching trending short-form and long-form content for Brainjolt’s various brands and social media channels across all platforms
  • Ensuring that content creators are versed in Brainjolt’s licensing terms and comfortable with non-exclusive permissions and our Terms and Conditions
  • Growing our account library of content creators by securing clearance to full accounts
  • Ensure shows have enough content in cue to meet the demands of our production schedule

You should be ready to:

  • Use your excellent communication skills to reach out to content creators and report in our Slack channels
  • Apply your experience having worked in the online media industry, either at a news outlet, video licensing company, or social media channel
  • Prove you’re experienced in video researching and licensing user-generated content (UGC)
  • Be familiar with the history of UGC
  • Use your knowledge of social channel rules and regulations
  • Watch for trending and viral content daily
  • Manage digital assets, perform data ingestion, assist with associated issue management, cataloging, general asset organizing, maintenance, and management
