Overview

The Community Success Associate (CSA) works closely with Food Revolution Network’s (FRN’s) Community Success Manager (CSM) and as part of FRN’s Impact Team. Together they create and deliver consistently high-quality health and nutrition education, communication, and support to our customers and community members.

The CSA serves as a source of nutrition and health knowledge and emotional encouragement for members at every stage of whole food, plant-based living. The CSA is guided by the CSM and works closely with her and other members of the Impact Team to identify community needs and supply credible and empowering resources.

The schedule for and volume of time spent on different responsibilities will vary in relation to programmatic needs, priorities, and timelines.

This is a part-time position (20-24 hours/week), requiring a combination of weekday and weekend hours.

Reports to: Community Success Manager

Requirements

  • Training and 1-2 years of professional experience as a health coach, nutritional counselor, or behavior change specialist.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and enthusiasm for whole food plant-based nutrition, recipes, and lifestyle.
  • Understand the scientific literature and know how to translate nutritional science into valuable information and knowledge for FRN members.
  • Must have excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of organizational skills.
  • Ability to guide and assist members of the FRN community in implementing a plant-based lifestyle.
  • Passion for facilitating transformation and change in helping others reach their health goals.
  • A combination of weekday and weekend availability.
  • Ability to work an increased schedule during FRN’s annual Summit event — typically from mid-April to early May.

Responsibilities

Community Support

Carry out day-to-day activities related to engaging with and supporting FRN course participants, program members, and our public-facing community forums with an eye toward fostering success for participants, building lasting relationships, and encouraging ongoing readership.

  • Establish a presence and nurture relationships with FRN course participants and WHOLE Life Club (WLC) members via the organization’s private platform/member center.
  • Answer course participant and WLC member questions as appropriate or seek input from FRN’s Community Success Manager, Dietitian & Recipe Developer and/or Head of Impact (HoI) or other members of the FRN team when their input would be helpful.
  • Engage with FRN’s blog readers via the public commenting system, answering questions and providing support as appropriate and in alignment with the organization’s professional scope.
  • Moderate and engage with FRN’s social media audience as needed.
  • Respond to general community member questions via email, as requested by the Dietitian & Recipe Developer, Community Success Manager, or Community Builder group.
  • Answer health and nutrition-related questions from other Impact Team members so that they can better assist community members.
  • Participate in live, online events for WLC members.

Community Success Content

  • Assists CSM, DRD, and Impact Team in maintaining an internal library of WFPB nutrition and health coaching resources including the Health, Nutrition, and Medical Saved Replies document.
  • Identifies gaps in and drafts Saved Replies as needed in response to reader questions and feedback.
  • Draft educational and engagement-driven program content and communication as requested.
  • Work with Impact Team to present and vet potential guest speakers for WLC interviews.

Reporting & Administration

Assists the CSM in maintaining success-related reporting systems to keep the HoI and the entire Leadership Team apprised of progress toward goals and objectives.

  • Maintains Daily Support Tasks spreadsheet to track team engagement and moderation coverage.
  • Identifies and communicates issues and concerns on behalf of our community that call for attention and action from other FRN teams.
  • Stays current with FRN articles, materials, and offerings and maintains all related saved replies for team reference as needed.
  • Keeps the CSM generally apprised of Community Success performance and needs.

Work Location

FRN is a fully remote team, with team members in multiple North American time zones. This position may be performed from anywhere, but we strongly prefer North America-compatible time zones, with a required availability from 9 am – 3 pm Pacific Time Monday through Thursday.

Compensation

$18.00 – $22.00/hour, depending on experience. Part-time, non-temporary, employees also receive paid time off, flexible time off for holidays, wellness time off, health, vision, and dental insurance, opportunities for bonuses, and other benefits.
