Our team is in search of a Business Intelligence Engineer, Finance to help us change the way digital products are designed.
About the Team:
Our team is in search of a Business Intelligence Engineer, Fiance to help us change the way digital products are designed. We’re looking for a dedicated data analyst to support our Finance business unit. You’ll work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis, our Business Operations team, our Business Technology team, and other internal stakeholders to provide high-trust visibility into key financial metrics: how they are performing, and where they are headed.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable and experienced at delivering high-quality dashboards and findings in collaboration with finance professionals and teams. You must strive for excellence and be a self starter. You must have outstanding communication skills and a proven track record of delivering thorough, accurate analysis that yields business insights and drives decisions.
What you’ll do:
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of key metrics to our executives and board members, based on a deep understanding of our revenue streams and data flows
- Ensuring our financial dashboards are up to date, easy to understand, and accurate; extensively vetting data quality with automated and manual checks
- Helping other key stakeholders across the business to answer their questions about our financial data
- Partnering with our data engineers to ensure that the right data gets collected and stored in the right ways
What you’ll bring:
- Deep understanding of use of SQL
- Working knowledge of ETL and/or other data engineering techniques/skills
- On-the-job experience producing reports end-to-end for an internal business audience: postprocessing data, visualizing it, and confirming that the results tell the true story of what happened
- Thorough attention to detail and quality: you don’t rest until you’re confident in the accuracy of your deliverables
- Experience on a financial team at a technology company, and/or one with recurring subscription revenue
- Enjoyment of solving complex, unstructured problems
- Ease working directly with nontechnical stakeholders to understand their needs, solve their problems, and communicate progress
- Domain knowledge of billing, payments, and/or accounting strongly preferred
- Ease working with more technical business stakeholders to guide them in self-serving the data while following best practices
- Working knowledge of Python; experience querying Redshift and/or Snowflake is a plus
